March 6th 2007: Got our first VC Term Sheet

After a year of meetings and 2 LOI's, today we received our first Term Sheet from a VC. As soon as we are allowed, we will of course announce the deal.

Right now our lawyers are looking at it, but I hope to sign it if things go well by early next week since I will be flying to San Jose to launch our first product at the Video On The Net Show.

February 28th, 2007: Koof.com

After about 14 months of trying to buy Koof.com from the previous owner, today we finally took ownership after paying for it a few days ago.

We paid a high price, but a few months from now it would probably have cost us 3x or more.

June 22, 2005 - Qoof.com Registered

Was June 22nd the birth of Qoof? Well it was the day that I registered Qoof.com, but I can't say that was when the idea for what is Qoof came to mind.

Like many others I like to buy and sell domain names as a hobby. I was using one of the many tools to search for available names and so I always look to see what .com names were available that had the "double O" and was 5 letter or less. When I saw that Qoof.com was available I jumped on it. I also registered Bafoo.com, which gets some traffic and might have been the name of what the company is today.

In a later post we can talk about why I chose the name Qoof.

Timeline

I think it will be a lot of fun to track the timeline of qoof. That way when they write the "Qoof Story" it will make it easier to write. Of course this means that a lot of the posts in this category will not be in time line order.
